New British ski show launches

InTheSnow Live takes over from the British Ski & Board Show (pictured) at the NEC
A brand new ski show is planned for Birmingham next year, organised by InTheSnow magazine — with a £50,000 cash prize on offer for visitors.
InTheSnow Live, from 25-27 October, will take the place of the British Ski and Board Show, which has run at Birmingham’s NEC for the past 24 years.
As well as the £50,000 giveaway, organisers are planning fashion shows and ski talks in a fur-lined theatre, a plasma wall featuring live broadcasts from the show and from the ski scene around the world —as well as hundreds of exhibitors.
InTheSnow is taking over at particularly hard time for the British ski industry. According to a report produced by ski tour operator Crystal last summer, the number of Brits taking a ski holiday last winter fell by 16,200 to 894,700 — the fourth consecutive time the market has fallen.
But the InTheSnow Live team seems full of enthusiasm, saying it wants to put the “show” back in ski show.
“Our desire is to create a national snowsports show for everyone from first timers to seasoned skiers and snowboarders,” said show director Dominic Killinger.
“We have some exciting features planned, from our unique luxurious après ski bar to our Christmas wonderland and the multi-purpose skills slope, to surprise and delight visitors and really deliver an exceptional day out, whilst offering great value for everyone who loves snowsports.”
Tickets are already on sale — priced at £15 for adults, £7 for children — from inthesnowlive.com
