New snow for Madonna race

Madonna di Campiglio - glorious Dolomites on 21 April 2010
Madonna di Campiglio will close out the season with a giant slalom race on 25 April, and with fresh snowfall …
It will be the third edition of the Super Grostè, which is organised by the Madonna lift company and takes place on the Graffer to Grostè piste – a 3000m long run, with a 450m vertical. The race is open to all FIS qualified skiers and snowboarders, but the idea is for a fun but competitive day that everyone can enjoy whether racing or spectating. The after-race party, for example, gets going in the Pond Chalet bar at 3.30pm.
And conditions look pretty good for the last day of the season: up to 22cm of fresh snow fell earlier this week. The resort still reports 30cm at 1500m and 165cm at 2250m, so not bad going for the time of year. Take a look at Wednesday’s webcam shot – nice, eh?
