New ‘Where to Ski in France’ book on sale next month

Elodie Guignard from Courchevel telling the Where to Ski launch party crowd all the resort’s news for next season
On Monday 10 September, around 150 of skiing’s great and good (mainly tour operators, ski resorts representatives and journalists) gathered at the annual Where to Ski book launch in the splendid surroundings of the National Liberal Club in London (don’t read anything political into the venue though!).
They all received preview copies of the brand new Where to Ski in France book which covers all the major French resorts and many you may never have heard of but are worth a visit.
Finished copies will go on sale in late October and we will be mailing everyone who receives our e-newsletters with a special pre-publication discount offer to buy one before then.
Chris Gill explained all about the new book and why it is essential reading for anyone choosing a resort in France to go on holiday to. The French book follows the very successful Where to Ski in Austria book, the first of our new-style guides, launched last year. Both of these new books are designed to last for three or four years before needing to be updated.
In time, there will also be digital editions of both books available to buy.
Two resorts (Courchevel and La Plagne) took advantage of the unique assembly of key people in the ski industry to get across their messages and the latest news about their resorts.
The news included a new gondola from Courchevel Village (1550) to Courchevel (1850) and Salvador Dali artwork adorning the mountain and the village for the season. La Plagne announced a brand new indoor/outdoor spa, pool and sauna complex in Belle Plagne and the chance to stay the night at the top of the mountain in a converted piste basher with a luxury bedroom and your own hot tub – one lucky journalist won the chance to do this in a competition held at the launch party.
