The ski resort of Orelle in France is offering free accommodation to skiers who by a Three Valleys lift pass next week and at the end of March.

The small farming village of Orelle is the mythical ‘fourth valley’ of the Three Valleys ski area. Although it is situated in the Maurienne Valley, unlike the other more famous resorts including Meribel and Courchevel which are in the Tarentaise, Orelle is linked to the world’s biggest ski area over the ridge from Val Thorens. While it’s small and charming and a world away from the mega resorts of Les Trois Vallées (as are the prices), Orelle still offers access to around 600km of pistes, and some excellent off-piste skiing and uncrowded slopes.

This winter, Orelle is offering skiers free accommodation in a Gîte de France residence (privately owned) or an official tourist office residence during low season. All you need to do is by a six-day Tribu 3 Vallées ski pass (€297) and ski from 11-18 January or from 28 March to 3 April.
