Ortovox recalls faulty transceivers

A batch of Ortovox 3+ avalanche transceivers has been found to be faulty
Ortovox is recalling a batch of avalanche transceivers that have been found to be faulty.
The batch of Ortovox 3+ — which retail for £259.99 in shops such as Ellis Brigham and online at Amazon — switch to transmission mode after 120 seconds in search mode.
The error was discovered by manufacturers during search training, and affects all devices shipped to shops after 17 October.
Stefan Haas from Ortovox told Where to Ski and Snowboard: “This does affect some devices sold in the UK. As a precaution, we are recalling all devices shipped after that date for inspection and a software update. These devices can no longer be used without an update.”
For more information, and to find out whether your avalanche transceiver is affected, enter the serial number on your device on the Ortovox homepage here.
