The second annual Park City Shot Ski event aims to claim back the world title

A pub in Park City is aiming to break the world “Shot Ski” record next month, by enlisting the help of more than 1,250 willing beer drinkers.

The ski resort of Park City is locked in a battle with the resort of Breckenridge, Colorado, over who can summon the biggest line-up of drinkers to raise one long ski for a shot of ale.

In January, Breckenridge took the world title from Park City, by gathering 1,234 participants together to drink from a shot ski. At 6pm on Saturday, 14 October, the Wasatch Brew Pub in the ski town of Park City is hoping to get more than 1,250 skiers and snowboarders together to reclaim the title on the main street of the town. A special shot ski has been made — of 440 skis bolted together.

It’s not just about doing a shot though — the event is part of a fundraiser for the Park City Sunrise Rotary, with games, live music and food to enjoy all afternoon long.
