Good timing: Val d’Isère is all set to celebrate the new season with a Snow Party week – and with 30cm of fresh powder arriving to put everyone in the party mood.

The Val d’Isère Snow Party runs from 5-12 December and anyone paying an early visit to the Espace Killy can join in the festivities. There will be special rates in the bars and cafes, as well as musical entertainment and freebies. And the resort is offering various accommodation packages that include an area lift pass.

For the single souls among you, the resort is even organising a speed dating session on the chairlifts – to take part, you’ll need to book in at the tourist office. There are other events lined up too. The week ends with some serious spectating, when the FIS World Cup racing series comes to town on 11/12 December.

It’s a brighter day in the Espace Killy today, with fresh snow lying to resort level. Strong north-westerly winds are still blowing above 2500m and there is more snow forecast for Thursday 3 December – more like winter at last!

What’s new?
