Powderbeds.com, an online ski accommodation retailer, has launched a new service aimed at helping skiers and boarders find good deals on Swiss hotels.

The company has set up a live pricing service that works with 80 or so Swiss hotels in many of the country’s top resorts. The hotels dynamically price their rooms, which then feed in to the Powderbeds site for the latest information, including special offers and discounted rooms.

The idea is that you don’t miss the best price and can book a short, or independent, break if you wish. They are advertising rooms in Zermatt from £81 per night, Andermatt from £65 or in Klosters from £62 per night for example. In addition to the traditional weekend-to-weekend availability, the service aims to make short break or mid-week options available too, for flexibility of holiday choice. There’s a full page featuring the latest deals; when you click through to one that catches your eye, you get a summary about the hotel and can check availability.

We tried a short break of four nights in Flims, which resulted in a price of £152 for two people sharing a dormitory (cheap!) or £350 for two people in a twin room in the Rider’s Palace. There seemed to be plenty of other options on the lists, but don’t expect huge quantities of short-break choice; many hotels in major resorts still prefer week-long stays.

Other quoted deals from the Powderbeds.com Swiss pages include: Engelberg from £87 at the 4-star Hotel Regina and Grindelwald’s Hotel Derby also from £87.
