Ready to Ride?

Saas Fee in summer
Saas Fee will resume snow sports on 3 July, when the glacier slopes are due to reopen. And first up for summer fun will be the annual Ride event.
The 8th Saas Fee Ride is planned for 17 July, when the Big Air Kicker showcases some of Europe’s top talent. As well as the serious riding, there will be other park sessions, rail jam, DJ’s and a BBQ high on the Allalin glacier. This year there will be a TV presence, with a short programme of the Ride being filmed for Eurosport.
The Saas Fee Ride is open to any experienced skier or boarder, so there will be a wide range of athletes taking part. They’ll be hoping the conditions are better than in 2009, when the event was called off due to poor weather and insufficient snow to build the kicker to competition level.
While the terrain park features strongly in the Swiss resort’s summer ski programme, there are good slopes for recreational riders – at over 3000m they generally have pretty good conditions too. And the resort makes a good base for other activities, with plenty of hiking and biking on offer.
