Recreate après-ski with new Piste Off toffee vodka

A favourite après-ski shot, Piste Off toffee vodka is distilled in the Cotswolds
As we near the end of “Dry January”, no closer to being able to go on a skiing holiday, there’s some good news. A new drink has been launched that will help avid skiers and snowboarders to enjoy a little après in the comfort of their own homes.
Entrepreneurial skier and former bartender Lucas Jones has launched Piste Off toffee vodka, a premium, high-strength vodka reminiscent of après-ski fun across the world. The vodka is distilled on a farm in the Cotswolds using English winter wheat and a hand-crafted base spirit blended with pure water and natural toffee.
Last season, Lucas worked in Le Petit Danois, a famous and loved spot for both seasonaires and visitors alike in Val d’Isère. Forced to leave the resort early due to the coronavirus pandemic, he decided to work on producing a premium toffee vodka during lockdown.
“I realised that not only was toffee vodka the best-selling shot and cocktail component out in resorts but it was all made in the store room with no consistent recipe,” said Lucas.
“In lockdown I decided that I would launch Piste Off and we have created a premium toffee vodka distilled in the Cotswolds. Since the start of January, sales have done very well and we have had lots of interest from ski chalet companies in terms of stocking Piste Off in their welcome pack as well as throughout the guests’ stay.”
The spirit was popular at a number of Alpine-themed bars before lockdown, and is now available for people to enjoy at homes. At 37.5%ABV and selling at £35 per bottle, Lucas says the drink is best served neat or mixed into a number of cocktails including the quintessential espresso martini.
