Rep dies in Val d’Isère fall

Val d'Isère, France
A 22-year old ski rep has died following a fall in the French resort of Val d’Isère on Tuesday 20 March.
The rep was on his day off, skiing on piste with friends, when he fell and crashed into a snow cannon. The man, who has not been named, worked for the British tour operator Crystal Ski – part of the TUI group. He is reported to be from the Leicestershire area of the UK.
The man’s friends quickly alerted the piste patrollers; medics then followed and worked for almost an hour to revive him, but the rep was declared dead shortly afterwards.
TUI has issued a statement confirming that the rep worked for the company and said, “We are helping to make arrangements for the family to fly out to France. A welfare councillor is also on its way to France to assist staff who witnessed the accident. Our thoughts are with the family, friends and colleagues at this very difficult time.”
Update:
The rep has been named as Thomas Lynch from Leicestershire.
