Revelstoke launches new heli-drops

Canada’s powder paradise and fledging resort Revelstoke officially launched its new door-to-door heli-ski programme on Boxing Day.
In partnership with long-established Selkirk Tangiers, Revelstoke Mountain Resort now offers A-Star – day heli-skiing direct from the Nelsen Lodge, at the base of the mountain.
A-Star offers its guests the opportunity to tailor-make a heli-ski experience with two packages: the private or exclusive. These make it possible for small groups (up to four persons) to enjoy a helicopter and guide for a trip through the 515,000 acres of backcountry terrain. A minimum of three people is required for a trip to go ahead; they can host up to three groups of four per helicopter.
Each package includes 3,000 vertical metres, breakfast, gourmet lunch, safety equipment and training, as well as ski or board rental.
The programme is also aimed at families wanting to try heli-skiing together, or for parents enrolling their children in the ski school and wishing to meet up at the lodge later in the day.
