Robbie Williams today pulled 25,000 people to the Austrian ski resort of Ischgl for its closing season concert.

Opening the show with his classic Let Me Entertain You, Robbie had the packed audience on their feet for 90 minutes, despite the snow and cold. He ran through songs from his new album, Swing Both Ways, and many old favourites, including Rock DJ and Kids. At one point he was joined on stage by his father, Peter, to sing a duet, and he closed the concert with everyone’s favourite, Angels.

How much Ischgl paid for one of the music world’s biggest stars is a closely guarded secret, but Robbie said he was delighted to be here.

“I love Austria, it’s my favourite place to perform,” he told a press conference before the concert. “I haven’t been skiing since I was in Switzerland in my twenties [Robbie used to ski in Zermatt] but the drive up to Ischgl from the airport yesterday was spectacular, I love the mountains, they are a paradise.”

Robbie told his legions of fans that he and his wife, Ayda, are expecting a second child, and told journalists before his concert that the pair hope to have three children.

He said Angels and Let Me Entertain You were his two favourite songs to perform — adding that he often feels “spiritual” when singing Angels.

Stars such as Sting, Elton John, Kylie and The Killers have all played closing season concerts at Ischgl — which will surely reverberate tonight with the continuing party begun by Robbie Williams.

Where to Ski and Snowboard have been kindly hosted on this trip by Ski Total, Inghams and Ischgl. Blogs, video and more pictures to follow!
