Saas-Fee bargain ski passes now valid

Saas-Fee has sold season ski passes for less than the prices of 4 days
The Swiss ski resort of Saas-Fee has run the most successful crowdfunding project in Europe and has announced that its bargain season passes — which have been selling for CHF 222 (around £183) — are now valid. The passes are CHF32 cheaper than a four-day pass in Saas-Fee.
When the passes first went on sale in October Saas-Fee announced they would only be available at that price if 99,999 people bought them, but earlier today when 75,000 passes had been ordered, the resort announced that the passes that had been purchased thus far have made the mega-deal valid.
“Everyone who has already booked one or more WinterCARD(s) will now receive them for the agreed price,” said Saas-Fee in a statement. “With over 75,000 orders, we have run the most successful crowdfunding project in Europe. We would like to say thank you for this massive declaration of love for the Free Republic of Holidays Saas-Fee and let you know that the mega-deal is valid as of now.”
The 2016-17 season passes are still available for that price until Sunday 27 November, along with three- year (CHF622) and fifteen-year (CHF2,999) season pass options.
As we put up this story, at 18:30pm on Thursday 24 November, some 80,000 passes had been sold, an increase of 5,000 just for today — who knows how many more will go before the Sunday deadline? Congratulations Saas-Fee on a fabulous idea!
