The Ski Club of Great Britain has bought Mountain Tracks, a respected mountain adventure company that offers off-piste skiing holidays, hut-to-hut ski tours and mountain and avalanche awareness training courses.

Mountain Tracks was set up in 2000 by Nick Parks and will continue to run under its company name, but offer Ski Club members the opportunity to do more off-piste. The Ski Club’s own holiday programme — Freshtracks — has traditionally focused on matching skiers of a similar ability on a group holiday but will now be expanded to offer ski touring and more off-piste experiences.

Frank McCusker, chief executive of Ski Club of Great Britain, said: “Our members now have even more opportunity to experience truly unique adventures on snow. Members on a Mountain Tracks or Ski Club Freshtracks holiday have access to the most highly respected and qualified IFMGA mountain guides and instructors.

“As we continue to grow our philosophy remains: great experiences for our members with small group sizes and low member to guide ratios. Whether you ski with our guides or instructors a Ski Club holiday will provide you with the skills and confidence you need to take on the mountain,” added Frank.

Nick Parks from Mountain Tracks added: “This is a really exciting development for Mountain Tracks, I believe our winter programme ideally complements Ski Club Freshtracks’s and gives us the opportunity to offer our customers new adventures both in summer and winter.”
