Le Ski has announced it will submit an appeal to France’s Supreme Court in Paris, to fight a ban on British tour operators guiding their clients around French ski resorts.

The appeal court in Chambery this week upheld a ruling on ski hosting made last year in Albertville. The rejection means British tour operators are still banned from guiding their guests around French resorts coming into this winter season. The Ski Club of Great Britain has also suspended its leading services in France following a similar prosecution.

Le Ski managing director Nick Morgan has always maintained he is prepared to fight the ban to the European court in Luxembourg, backed by 10 other operators — Alpine Elements, Crystal Ski Holidays, Esprit Ski, Inghams, Mark Warner, Neilson, Ski Olympic, Ski Total, Skiworld and Thomson Ski.

Mr Morgan said yesterday:  “Le Ski has today instructed their lawyer to submit an appeal to the supreme court in Paris regarding the ski hosting case. This is only possible with the continuing support of our fellow tour operators.”

Where to Ski and Snowboard reader are fed up with the ban.

Derek Christie said on twitter: “This means I will be looking at Italy again this year.”
