Skiers visiting Slovenia this winter can choose to stay in a new quality, eco-friendly hotel, the Bohinj Park.

The Bohinj Park resort opened its doors to guests in June 2009, and has been awarded five-star status for its range of accommodation and leisure facilities – which also includes rooms specially adapted for disabled guests.

The hotel is situated close to Lake Bohinj, in the Julian Alps near Bled. Although developed in a ‘block’ style, the hotel has been built using lots of natural materials and has installed its own well to supply hot and cold water.

As well as the contemporary style rooms and restaurant, a key attraction for families will be the new water park – with pools, slides and sauna facilities. There is also a cinema, bowling alley and business centre. And there is an ice rink next door.

For skiers and boarders, the hotel is conveniently close to the Vogel ski area. Vogel is the larger of two ski centres usually visited from Bled; the other is Kobla.
The new hotel is currently offering ski and spa packages from 198 euros; this includes two nights at the hotel, lift passes covering Vogel and Kobla and the free ski bus that runs between them.
