Ski titles hit by coronavirus

The 2020 Telegraph Ski and Snowboard Festival has been cancelled due to Covid
Two more ski publications have become coronavirus casualties, as websites OnTheSnow and Skiinfo close for good. Their Colorado-based owner, Mountain New Corporation, closed both sites on 13 July citing a “changing media landscape, financial declines in recent years and Covid-19 difficulties”.
In March, the British ski scene was shocked at the decision by the Telegraph newspaper group to close the print magazine Telegraph Ski & Snowboard, saying that readers “prefer to consume content online instead”.
The Telegraph Ski and Snowboard Festival in Battersea Park has also been canned for this year — though who knows whether it will resume in the future, following a decline in ticket sales and exhibitor attendance and a tightening of belts following the coronavirus pandemic.
As regular Where to Ski and Snowboard readers will know, we have had to postpone the publication of Where to Ski in Switzerland, because our research was cut short last winter. We hope to get it out on sale for autumn 2021 – and are still welcoming reader reports and you’ll find more details on how to do so, by clicking here.
