Ski Total launches Pilates weeks in Lech

Ski Total's Pilates weeks are designed to help skiers get the most from their holiday
Love Pilates and love skiing? Ski Total has launched two dedicated Pilates weeks in the Austrian resort of Lech next February and March, offering guests free classes each day.
Pilates is a system of exercises designed to enhance flexibility, posture, muscle awareness, endurance and coordination — perfect for skiing. The exercises focus on core strength, which help to reduce impact on a skier’s back, hips and knees, and make them more energy efficient and reduce wear and tear.
“Our classes are specifically designed to work the areas of your body you’ll use most on the slopes, so you can get the most out of your time on the powder and hopefully alleviate some of that post-ski aching we’ve all felt!” said Jessica Lloyd-Hitt from Ski Total, after a staff tried a taster Pilates class with instructor John Crook at their head office earlier this summer. “I attend Pilates classes at my local gym regularly, so I had a pretty good idea of what to expect, but I was surprised to find the classes so specifically tailored to a pre-ski workout.”
Jessica added: “The format is a series of slow-paced sequences working on a mat (provided), designed to strengthen the joints and muscles in the arms and legs. We followed John through the exercises which he demonstrated first, and though they were simple, the repetitive nature made them tough at times!”
The Pilates weeks are suitable for all ages and all levels, and will be held at Chalet Hotel Elisabeth in Lech on 28 February and 6 March. The chalet has a riverside location, as well as indoor swimming pool, sauna and relaxation area — so daily Pilates classes fit perfectly with its wellbeing ethos. The classes will be held after skiing every day to help guests relax.
Book your stay at Chalet Hotel Elisabeth departing from Gatwick on 6 March from £974pp. Chalet accommodation, flights, transfers, food and wine — with a five-course evening meal — are included. Visit skitotal.com or call the team on 01483 791 933 for more details and to make your booking.
