Eurostar tickets to the French Alps have gone on sale for winter 2016/17

Eurostar tickets to the French Alps have gone on sale for winter 2016/17. The high-speed passenger service linking the UK from London St Pancras and Ashford to Bourg St Maurice and Lyon will run weekly from 17 December 2016 to 8 April 2017.

Two ski trains will run each week on the Bourg St Maurice route, leaving London Friday evening and Saturday morning and dropping skiers close to the ski resorts of Courchevel, Val Thorens, Meribel, Les Arcs, Val d’Isère, Tignes and La Plagne.  No alcohol is permitted on the night train and tickets start from £149 return. Day trains run from London on Saturdays from 17 December, and Friday night trains, giving an extra day on the slopes, start a week later, on 23 December.

The direct route to Lyon takes skiers close to Les Deux Alpes, Alpes d’Huez and Chamrousse, with tickets from just £89 return.

Eurostar’s ski service started in 1994, and now more than 20 years later, new trains whisk skiers down to the Alps at 320kph. On both the Lyon and Bourg St Maurice services, each passenger can take two suitcases plus hand luggage and skis or snowboards at no extra cost.

Tickets are available from eurostar.com or by calling 03432 186 186, at Eurostar stations or from travel agents.
