Skiing continues at Arapahoe Basin

The Colorado ski resort will open for at least the first three weekends in June
It might be June, but the 2013/14 ski season is still going strong in one Colorado resort.
Originally due to close on 1 June, the snow is so good at Arapahoe Basin that it will re-open over the next three weekends — 6-8 June, 13-15 June and 20-22 June. Resort bosses are not ruling out the possibility of extending the season until 4 July — which would be the sixth time Arapahoe’s history.
The ski area was the first in Colorado to open its 2013/14, on 13 October. It has been blessed with more than 440 inches (1,118cm) of snow — with 15 extra days of snowfall in May bringing a 47in (nearly 120cm) top-up to the mountain.
Skiing has continued into July on five previous seasons — 1993, 1995, 1996, 1997 and 2011.
Over the next three weekends, much of the open terrain — from Black Mountain Express and Lenawee Mountain lifts — will be intermediate, with some beginner skiing. The lifts will be open from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm and all A-Basin season passes will be valid — with two-day tickets valid priced at $72 for adults and $50 for children.
