News 7/11/11

Swiss airline Helvetic Airways has announced a new route to the Alps this winter, between Bristol and Zurich.

The airline will begin services on 5 December, and operate the route three times a week – Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. This is an excellent opportunity for skiers and boarders based in the south-west UK to explore Swiss and western Austrian resorts, such as Engelberg, Davos, Klosters, Laax, Arosa, Austria’s Montafon ...

Times so far announced are good: morning departures from Bristol on a Monday, and afternoons on the other two days. Returns will also be early mornings - not so great for getting back from the resort; but Zurich is well served by rail and bus links. Welcome news for us west-based travellers ... saves the trawl to Gatwick for Zurich flights.

Fares start at £145 return and you get 20kg luggage allowance. Passengers will also benefit from a free car parking offer until the end of January 2012.

Stays of up to seven days in the long stay car park will be free of charge, with passengers simply collecting a complimentary exit ticket when checking in for their outbound flight.
