Ski rental business Skiset is this winter introducing 3D foot scanning to offer its customers the best possible fit in ski boots. After a year spent developing the technology, Skiset is launching “ScanFeet”, a ground-breaking programme that scans a customer’s foot shape in just five seconds and then matches it with the ski boots available in store.

While the rental business says its store staff are always professionally trained, this new software will enable faster, easier and more accurate fitting — particularly for children who often have difficulty expressing their needs.

The software will also enable a customer’s “skier profile” to be stored on the Skiset database, to be accessed for any future reservation — which also means customers can pre-order over the internet before they leave the UK, to ensure the correctly fitting boots will be waiting for them in time for their ski holiday.

Julien Gauthier, network development manager for Skiset, says: “Skiset concentrates on the client’s experience. ScanFeet is born from the desire to digitalise our know-how, improve the flow of clients in store and increase customer loyalty. This new software enables our staff to target the best ski boots available. The Skiset databse, accessible to all store members, improves the online booking process. It also creates new perspectives, especially for the development of Skiset Express. The better you know your client, the better the service.”

ScanFeet will be on show at the Telegraph Ski & Snowboard Festival, which starts today (Thursday 25 October) in Battersea Park, London. If you’re planning to ski this winter, get your scan done now and have your reserved boots ready and waiting for your next ski holiday. For more details, visit skiset.com
