The ski resort of Jackson Hole woke up to a dusting of snow on 11 July

It may be 11 July, but some ski resorts in North America were yesterday treated to dusting of the white stuff.

Jackson Hole Mountain Resort in Wyoming woke up to a dusting of snow in the Tetons — and this image of the Jackson Hole Aerial Tram reminds us that the 2016/17 season is just around the corner (no, really).

here — and a reassuring note to anyone planning a summer visit that summer returns tomorrow. “We have a saying in Jackson Hole: ‘If you don’t like the weather, wait ten minutes’.”

Meanwhile in Big Sky, Montana, six inches of snow fell overnight. Big Sky has posted a video of the snow on its Facebook page, adding: “Only 136 days until our winter opening day on 24 November”.
