Avoriaz will play host to the Transition music festival this December

Tickets have gone on sale for a new music festival in the Alps this season — with Dizzee Rascal as the headline act.
Transition, a “sister” festival to Mayrhofen’s massively popular Snowbombing, will take place in the French ski resort of Avoriaz from 13 to 19 December. The week-long festival will feature eight bespoke clubs, daily mountain-top raves, forest-lit outdoor stages, intimate gigs, igloo sound clashes and pop-up parties.

Headed by the Mercury-winning Dizzee Rascal, the stellar line-up for Transition includes Bondax, Canadian DJ, producer and remixer B-Traits, electro hip-hop maestro Krafty Kuts, drum and bass hero Wilkinson and DJ Mag’s Best Breakthrough Producer Ben Pearce to name but a few. Snowbombing favourites like the Artic Disco Igloo, Rompa’s Reggae Shack, and the Ride & Seek competition and two pool parties.

As well as top music acts, the festival will also stage Europe’s largest Alpine meal — for 2,000 diners — and a 2,000-player organised snowball fight.

Prices start at £99 for six nights’ accommodation and wristband rising to £349 for the full package that includes return coach travel from the UK, ski-in, ski-out accommodation, wristband and six-day lift pass. For more information visit transitionsnow.com

Snowbombing takes place in Mayrhofen, Austria, from 4-9 April 2016. For more information, visit snowbombing.com
