Ski for half price in Verbier on International Women's Day this Friday
If you’re a mum or even just female free and cut-price ski passes are coming your way this week.
To celebrate International Women’s Day on Friday (8 March), the Swiss ski resort of Verbier is offering ladies a special priced ski pass of just CHF35 (around £25, a saving of CHF19, £13.50), plus a welcome Tchaï tea welcome in Medran and apéritif at Chalet Carlsberg.
And Andermatt is offering 50 free day ski passes to women on Friday, worth CHF56 (around £40) each, plus the chance to attend a cocktail reception with Olympic skier Bernhard Russi. Elsewhere, a special lunch is being held in Whistler, Canada, in aid of the Kathy Barnett memorial fund, in Cervinia, Italy, a 70s and 80s party is being held at the foot of the slopes after skiing. In Cortina, flowers will be distributed to all women skiers on Friday, as well as 20 per cent of lessons with Snowdreamers Instructors.
And in Scotland on Sunday, the indoor slope Snow Factor at Xcape in Braehead is offering mums a free hour’s pass, worth £23, to celebrate Mother’s Day.
In Braehead, when a lift pass is bought for any child, the accompanying mother is entitled to a free hour on the slopes – to ski, snowboard or sledge. Afterwards, mums qualify for a free dessert and glass of wine with every full paying child in Xcape’s new Bavarian-themed restaurant, Bar Varia. Visit snowfactor.com
