Inghams and Ski Total are offering €150 of bar credit per couple

We all know how expensive a ski or snowboard holiday can be; and drinks in resort can add untold extras on top of your bill.

Where to Ski and Snowboard editors Dave Watts and Chris Gill introduced the Resort Price Index three years ago in response to the declining power of the pound, to help readers understand which resorts are more expensive than others.

But this season, two tour operators are helping out a bit further. Ski Total and Inghams are offering each couples €150 (about £121 at today’s exchange rate of €1.2 to £1) bar credit during a week’s holiday.

Ski Total has three chalet hotels — the Montpelier in Verbier, the Ambassador in Saas Fee and the Champs Avalins in Val d’Isère — where the “free drinks” offer of €150 or CHF150 (about £100 at today’s exchange rate of CHF1.49 to £1) is valid on bookings made up until 31 October.

Seven nights in the Chalet Hotel Champs Avalins in Val d’Isère, France, starts at £499pp, including return flights to Geneva, transfers, and seven nights’ catered accommodation with buffet breakfast, afternoon tea, and five-course evening meals with complimentary wine six nights out of seven.

Inghams is offering €150 bar bar credit to couples booking at selected chalet hotels, including Montet in Val d’Isère, Hotel de Verbier, Les Cimes, Alpe d’Huez, Le Dôme, Tignes and Hotel Atlanta in Zermatt. Prices for a seven-night stay in Hotel Atlanta start at £399, including catered accommodation including full skiers buffet breakfast, free daily afternoon tea and cake, five-course evening meals, pre-dinner aperitif, choice of complimentary wines, return flights and resort transfers
