Summer skiing begins in Les 2 Alpes

Les Deux-Alpes has the largest skiable glacier in Europe, with 111 hectares
Summer skiing will get underway in France this weekend, when the largest skiable glacier in Europe opens its lifts.
With 111 hectares of slopes on its glacier at 3,200m, Les Deux-Alpes leads the charge on summer skiing, with nine blue pistes, one red and one green, along with a beginner area, large 18-hectare freestyle area and a freeride zone with halfpipe and superpipe.
When it opens on Saturday, 20 June, the glacier will be accessed via a 30min ride in the Jandri Express cable car. The resort has reported ski conditions to be “excellent” in time for the opening weekend, with an average snow depth of 255cm. A one-day pass will cost €38.50
Elsewhere in France, the Grande Motte glacier in Tignes opens 27 June until 9 August, with a daily morning service from 07:15 to 13:00.
The Zermatt glacier in Switzerland is also open, though lift access from Cervinia in Italy begins on 27 June. The Hintertux and Stubai glaciers in Austria are also currently open, while Saas-Fee opens its lifts for the summer on 19 July.
