The Telegraph Ski and Snowboard Festival features the UK's biggest real-snow kicker

Three weeks today, the Telegraph Ski and Snowboard Festival will be kicking off in Battersea Park — and celebrating its 45th anniversary. The festival runs from 25 to 28 October this year and promises, as ever, to be bigger and better than ever before.

Over its many years, “The Ski Show” has had several different incarnations, at one point becoming a mecca for pre-season shopping, holiday choosing and seasonnaire meetings; before slightly falling out of popularity. But in recent years, thanks in part to its move from Earls Court to Battersea Park, the show — now called a festival — has been regaining its popularity.

Now scheduled over half-term, with family entertainment as well as après, advice, sports and action as well being a fabulous meeting point for like-minded souls, the Telegraph Ski and Snowboard Festival has reinvented itself once again. This year looks set to be bigger and better: with the new Snow+Rock Climbing Wall; a vintage Ferris Wheel to be set in the centre of Mountain Village (just outside the centre); dog sledding around Battersea Park and a full line-up of apres events to celebrate 45 years of ski show.

There’s ice skating, thanks to Crystal Ski Holidays, and Chel-ski is taking its slope to Battersea Park for ski and snowboard lessons. As in previous years, the 50ft kicker Mount Battersea is back — the UK’s largest real snow big air — where some of the UK’s best ski and snowboard athletes will perform demos and compete.

There is a Kids Arts, Crafts & Entertainment zone in the Neilson’s Lodge where they’ll be joined by Tootles & Nibs for winter sports themed games and activities, a winter selfie station, arts & crafts and face painting!

The Telegraph Ski and Snowboard Festival runs from 25 to 28 October, with tickets starting from £20 (there are big concessions for students, children and families). For more information and to reserve your ticket, visit skiandsnowboard.co.uk
