The Killers to play out Ischgl season

14th January 2011, by Chris Gill

It’s another musical scoop for Ischgl. American band The Killers will play out the season at the Austrian resort’s Top of the Mountain concert on 30 April 2011.

And with an extra bank holiday that weekend, it’s your chance to escape the “pomp and ceremony” of a royal wedding the in UK and hit the slopes one last time.

The Top of the Mountain concerts in Ischgl are legendary: great music in the open air setting at Idalp – ski up to the stage and bop around in your boots along with a crowd of 20,000 other enthusiasts. The Austrian resort is one of the last non-glacier ski areas to close for the season, so it’s a good way to grab some spring snow time.

The Killers are one of the best-selling bands of the century, and pretty big over the past few years. Their first album, Hot Fuss, brought mainstream success, with popular singles such as ‘Mr Brightside’ and ‘Smile like you mean it’ doing very well in the UK charts.

Get in quick if you want to stay in the resort that weekend! Package prices for a four-night stay, B&B, including a three day lift pass start at 330 euros per person (approx £280). The lift pass gets you into the gig for free – just a gondola ride up the mountain from the village.

The last day of skiing is 1 May 2011
