Ski show season is upon us, with Manchester last weekend and London opening yesterday. You’ve got your kit sorted, how about some pre-season avalanche awareness training?

Henry’s Avalanche Talk UK Autumn Tour “Ride Hard, Ride Safe!”, sponsored by Arc’teryx, is underway at Ellis Brigham stores around the UK, and there are still some tickets left evening dates.

Ride, Hard, Ride Safe “The Essentials” is packed with all the essentials, as it says, but there are also two more “in depth” versions to take your knowledge a step further.

Next weekend (10 and 11 November) Henry is running beeper (avalanche transceiver) training session on Wimbledon Common, from 11:00 to 13:30.

Henry Schniewind is an American-born off-piste guide and avalanche talk. He studied avalanche forecasting as part of a geology degree in the US before moving to the French Alps, where he runs in-resort training in Val d’Isère and Tignes.

The tour is supported by The Ski Club of Great Britain, and Henry will also be doing mini talks at the London Ski Show.
