Towers in place for Alberta’s longest quad
One of the major resort developments in Canada this winter is happening at Jasper’s Marmot Basin - the construction of Alberta’s longest high-speed quad.
The 26 towers have been put in place for the new lift, which is due to open for 2009/10. The Canadian Rockies Express replaces an old chairlift and T-bar, starting at the bottom of the resort and extending for 2.3km up the mountain to the ridge at Outer Limits - yet the ride time will be just 7.5 minutes. The resort has invested heavily in improving its ski area recently and the new quad is costing $8 million.
