Try skeleton and bobsleigh in London

Try skeleton and bobsleigh in London this Friday at the inaugural City Push Track Championships
Ever wanted to try skeleton or bobsleigh — the Formula One of winter sports? Well this Friday, you can, when the world of Winter Olympic sport arrives in the heart of London.
Held at the Honourable Artillery Club on 10 June, the inaugural Bobsleigh and Skeleton City Push Track Championships will feature former sports stars, schools, celebrities and corporations from across the city and beyond.
Individuals and teams of six can both compete in two-man and two-woman bobsleigh, as well as the men’s and women’s skeleton. The winners of each section will be rewarded with a taxi bob ride on the Olympic run in St Moritz, Switzerland — while the fastest individual skeleton run on the day will win a complimentary package to Momentum Ski’s Skeleton Experience with Amy Williams on 10-12 December in Innsbruck.
While there won’t be any ice at the Honourable Artillery Club on Friday, a 70m track will be set up on which former sports stars, schools, celebrities and corporations from across the city and beyond will race.
“I’ve watched bobsleigh and skeleton at the Olympics but I never thought I’d get the chance to have a go myself, especially not here in London,” said James Harding, investment director at Quilter Cheviot - one of the companies already signed up to slide on Friday.
“It promises to be a fantastic day’s entertainment and it’s something that is already generating plenty of interest in the office. It’s a great setting and something that I’m sure we’ll remember for a long time, especially if we win!”
GB Bobsleigh and GB Skeleton athletes will take a break from their pre-season preparations to offer coaching tips on the day, with the morning set aside for practice runs for the 30 corporate teams, two schools and the rest of the novice competitors.
The cost per team is £2,000, but if you don’t have a team, contact Momentum Ski anyway as individuals can also participate. Call 0207 371 9111 to take part, or email .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)
