A new direct flight between the UK and Slovakia this winter will open up more value skiing in Eastern Europe.

Wizz Air is flying four times a week from London Luton to Poprad-Tatry airport in Slovakia, which gives quick access to the ski resorts in the High Tatras mountains — Tatranská Lomnica, Starý Smokovec and Štrbské Pleso — only 15 minutes away.

Slovakia’s biggest ski resort, Jasná in the Low Tatras, is less than 40 minutes’ drive from the airport.

In the past five years, €200m has been invested in Jasná which now has four new gondolas, 45km of pistes and 12 freeride zones.  During the same time period, the number of visitors to the resort has nearly doubled, and this February it will host a Freeride World Tour qualifying event.

The 2hr 25min-flight runs four days a week — Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday — all year round. For more information visit wizzair.com
