A popular ‘Off Piste and Avalanche Awareness Tour’ is back for another series of safety talks in the UK

The Ski Club of Great Britain, Henry’s Avalanche Talk (HAT) and sponsors Arc’tyrex have teamed up to run educational talks at Snow ‘n Rock stores around the UK in November. Off-piste ski instructors and guides lead the talks; all experts in avalanche awareness.

Keep safe – have fun

With off-piste skiing and riding more popular than ever, the UK tour aims to promote mountain safety and to deliver high quality advice for anyone venturing into the backcountry. By acquiring the basic skills, you’ll be able to have more fun in the snow.

Chief Executive of the Ski Club, Caroline Stuart Taylor said: ‘We hope that people can learn the basics of mountain safety before they go away and have a level of understanding which will help them have fun on their holiday, including when they head off piste.’

When and where?

The Tour takes places at six Snow ‘n Rock stores listed below. There will also be three special sessions in practical transceiver training, plus search and rescue techniques. These will be held at UK beaches on Hayling Island (Sat 14 Nov), Formby Merseyside (21 Nov) and Sandbanks in Dorset (Sat 7 Nov).
