Vail season pass offers three free Verbier days

12th September 2012, by Abi Butcher

Skiers who heading to Colorado to ski this winter could get three days’ free skiing in Verbier.

If you buy an Epic Pass, which offers unlimited skiing this season in any Vail Resorts destination — Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Keystone, Heavenly, Northstar, Kirkwood and Arapahoe Basin — you get a free three-day pass in Verbier.

Buying a season pass in Colorado is not as barmy as it sounds. An Epic Pass costs $679 (£421.50 today, using the current exchange rate of £1=$1.61) for an adult, which works out as $30 less than buying a seven-day pass for Vail and Beaver Creek during peak season or $50 less than a ten-day pass during low season.

A three-day pass in the exclusive Swiss resort of Verbier and the 4 Vallées is currently worth around CHF200 (£132) — a decent saving on a weekend’s skiing.

And if you have a season pass for Verbier this season, you’ll get three free days in Vail Resorts.

The Epic Pass is only available pre-season, so if the offer appeals, snap it up now. But bear in mind that you may be able to get a week’s pass through a tour operator for a lot less than the ‘rack’ rate we’ve quoted.
