Val Thorens gets swanky new venue

Relax, wine, dine and boogie ...
A dual concept mountain restaurant makes its debut in Val Thorens this winter, bringing together fine food and top-notch partying.
Club Open Air sits at 2400m and comprises two parts: the Folie Douce and the Fruitière – just as the two venues of the same name in Val d’Isère.
The Fruitière handles the fine dining, open until 3.30pm and serving a range of organic local produce. Then the Folie Douce takes over to pump up the volume for some lively après-ski. There is a large terrace, with a dance floor and bar, above which a huge balcony supports the DJ’s and live bands. Or you can chill out on huge white sofas in the VIP lounge.
And for those gastronomes among us, the resort is hosting a Gastronomy Week from 16-23 January – where you’ll be able to sample the goods at various tasting sessions, drop by for a cookery lesson or a enjoy a hearty dinner after a day on the slopes.
