The French ski resort of Val Thorens has published a set of drawings for children to colour in to help keep them busy at home during the coronavirus outbreak lockdown.

The resort in the world-famous Three Valleys has produced seven different drawings featuring all things ski related — from fondues to snowmen to hikers to skiers and people out snowshoeing — for parents to print off for their kids. The pictures are available for download here.

Val Thorens also this week announced that it will open for next season on 21 November, to give skiers mourning the loss of the spring skiing season something to look forward to. The linked resort of Orelle, part of the Maurienne Valley, will be next to open a week on 28 November, followed by Les Menuires, Meribél and Courchevel on Saturday 5 December. La Tania and Brides-les-Bains will open the week after, 12 December.

Val Thorens has also issued another warning on its facebook page asking people to stay out of the mountains to ease pressure on its rescue services.
