Texas will be headlining "Verbier Impulse" ski and music festival

The Swiss resort of Verbier has announced a brand new ski and music festival to celebrate the end of the season.

“Verbier Impulse” will run over two weekends — 8-10 April then 15-17 April with ski competitions and music events featuring international acts, tribute bands and young local talent.

Headlining the event will be Texas on Saturday 16 April, with new German star Stefanie Heinzmann kicking off the event on Saturday 9 April. Snother big act, Swiss-German group 77 Bombay Street, will play on Sunday 17 April.

Concerts will take place on a specially constructed stage “Arena Attelas” in front of Chalet Carlsberg at 2,500m.

The music will complement the Verbier High Five — when the public are invited to compete against top ski racers in giant slalom, mini KL (flying Kilometre), skicross and trampoline — as well as the finals of the Philippe Rouz Cup, a giant slalom competition held on Savoleyres ever Saturday.

The concerts are free to Verbier or 4 Vallées ski pass holders, but there are special rates for each weekend and accommodation, too.
