Got the January blues and thinking of applying for a new job? Why not go for one carrying the skis of professional freeskier Matilda Rapaport on her Alaskan leg of the Freeride World Tour?

You might think we’re joking, but we’re not. Skiwear manufacturer Peak Performance is inviting skiers to enter a competition to win the job of a lifetime — helping Rapaport with her skis in Haines, Alaska from 17-25 March.

“I am looking for an outgoing person who loves to ski and travel,” says the Swedish freeskier. “I need help with my skis before starting at the top of the mountain. This is a small but important part in my preparation for a race. Can anyone do the job? My last assistant was a disaster.”

For anyone who can ski, this is truly the opportunity of a lifetime – it’s a five-second job and all the winner has to do is to help Matilda hold her skis before the start. There’s also the opportunity to ski and discover Alaska with Matilda, one of the best freeskiers in the world. If it that doesn’t sound good enough, the week will also include some heli-skiing — and you can take a friend!

Matilda and a team of recruiters will carefully select the best applicants and in the end decide who gets the job. To apply, post a picture or video of yourself on Instagram and describe why you should get the job, use #radicaljob and @peakperformance when you post. Get your post up by 31 January — the five best applicants will be called for an interview. If you’re selected, you will also be able to take a friend with you to Alaska.

The four runners up will receive the following prizes:

• Peak Performance Heli Line #6 jacket worth €800
• GoPro Hero4 Black + accessories, worth €700
• Peak Performance Heli Gravity jacket, worth €575
• GoPro Hero Session + accessories, worth €450
