Ski coach Warren Smith has announced dates of his Ski Technique Lab Tour

Ski coach and academy owner Warren Smith has announced dates of his Ski Technique Lab Tour, beginning on 3 October in Aberdeen.

This is the fourth year Warren Smith has run his workshops across the UK. The evening workshops look at ski technique development and explains classic ‘blocks’ in skier movement patterns, with participant tests and assessments so skiers can identify their movement ranges and how they can improve before the start of the winter.

The movement range tests include leg extension, body angulation, cores stability and skier symmetry tests. Warren explains that if a skier doesn’t have the range of movement on the snow, they can’t have it off the snow — but just three weeks of dry-land training will achieve massive results and improve your skiing beyond what could be achieved with lessons on the mountain.

Warren Smith, founder and director of the Verbier-based Warren Smith Ski Academy, said: “For this year’s tour, we will be covering even more venues across the country at a variety of different stores. Each evening will run for approximately 2 hours and begin at 7pm or 8pm. We then conclude with an open Q&A session - this evening lecture allows keen skiers to hit the ground running ahead of the fast approaching winter season. Hopefully we will be coming to a town close you and you can make it along”.
