Ski resorts have all sorts of whacky ways to end their season — but none more so than the party taking place in La Clusaz this weekend.

“Defy Foly”, the end of season party for Lake Annecy Ski Resorts is in its 26th year and will this Saturday and Sunday produce sports men and women on skis, monoskis, snowboards and even trays to slide across Confins Lake.

More than 150 competitors are likely to try their luck at sliding the furthest over the lake in this event that was launched in 1986 and now draws thousands of spectators.

At noon on Sunday (27 April), La Clusaz’s very own Freeride World Champion, Loïc Collomb-Patton, will join in the fun but it’s unclear whether he will be attempting to waterski, too.

For the less adventurous, there is also the OGNI event, otherwise known as Unidentified Floating Objects (UFOs), floating inventions - anything goes, as long as it floats.
