Whistler added to the Epic Pass

Whistler Blackcomb has been added to the Epic Pass for the coming ski season
Whistler Blackcomb has been added to the Epic Pass for the coming ski season, following the final closure on its acquisition by Vail Resorts.
This means that all 2016-1t Epic Pass and Epic Local Pass holders will receive five complimentary days at Whistler Blackcomb for this winter — and that all Whistler Blackcomb Unlimited season pass holders, who will receive five complimentary days at any of Vail Resorts’ mountain resorts.
This is a dramatic turnaround from when Vail Resorts first announced the US$1billion (CAN$1.4b) deal back in August, when it said Whistler Blackcomb would continue this winter with its existing season pass products and be integrated into the Epic Pass for 2017-18.
“We’re thrilled to officially welcome Whistler Blackcomb to our collection of world-class mountain resorts and to be able to offer our Epic Pass and Epic Local Pass holders five ski days at Whistler Blackcomb for this 2016-17 winter season,” said Kirsten Lynch, chief marketing officer of Vail Resorts.
“We look forward to fully integrating Whistler Blackcomb into our Epic Pass and other season pass products for the 2017-18 winter season and will announce those plans in March 2017.”
In September, Vail Resorts announced that some of Europe’s top ski areas have been added to the Epic Pass for this coming season. The multi-resort pass from Vail Resorts has added Les 3 Vallées, Paradiski and Tignes-Val d’Isère in France, Skirama Dolomiti Adamello Brenta in Italy, 4 Vallées in Switzerland (Verbier), and Arlberg (Lech, St Anton) in Austria to the 2016-2017 line-up — though with some restrictions (read the full story here).
In the US, the Epic Pass offers unlimited, unrestricted access to a number of world-class ski resorts including Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Keystone and Arapahoe Basin in Colorado; Park City in Utah; Heavenly, Northstar and Kirkwood at Lake Tahoe. It also offer holders unlimited access to skiing in Perisher, Australia.
The five complimentary days of skiing and snowboarding at Whistler Blackcomb with the Epic Pass and Epic Local Pass can take place any time during the 2016-17 winter season with the exception of the following restricted holiday dates 25-26 November 26-31 and December, 14 January and 18-19 February 2017. The days do not have to be used consecutively.
All 2016-17 Whistler Blackcomb Unlimited Season Pass holders, including the Spirit and Sea to Sky Passes, will receive five complimentary days of skiing and snowboarding at any of Vail Resorts’ US mountain resorts this winter. The five complimentary days at Vail Resorts’ US resorts do not have to be used consecutively and have a handful of restricted dates (as above).
