Fancy sleeping at the top of a ski jump? Yes, you read that correctly. Following on from its stunt with the Saulire cable car in Courchevel, Airbnb is offering a night at the Holmenkollen ski jump in Oslo for two lucky competition winners.

The Holmenkollen is one of the most famous ski jumps in the world and will host the FIS Ski Jumping World Cup on 14 and 15 March. But later next month the top of the jump, where skiers prepare for their flight, will be transformed into a glass-walled penthouse apartment with private rooftop terrace, decorated with Nordic temporary design. After their stay the winners need only take the zipline down over the jump — and not leap off it themselves (that’s only for the pros).

On the first floor, 250 steps below the apartment, is the world’s first ski museum. Discover more than 4,000 years of ski history and learn about the adventures of polar explorers, including Roald Amundsen.

In the morning, after breakfast in the VIP lounge guests can take the zipline out over the jump, go cross-country skiing in some of the 1,500km of trails in Oslo Vinterpark ski resort — or go tobogganing on “The Corkscrew”.

“This is a wonderfully quirky idea coming to life, and a perfect way to round off the ski jump season after the FIS Ski Jumping World Cup,” said Jeanette Hansen, operations manager at Holmenkollen. “This is a great way to showcase one of the top tourist destination in Norway to a world of travelers, and we can’t wait to welcome the guests to arguably the penthouse with the best view of our city.”

How to win a spot?
For a chance to win, visit Holmenkollen’s listing on Airbnb no later than 16 March at 23h59 and tell the host why you would like to spend the night at the Holmenkollen penthouse.

Two winners will be selected to stay one night each. The two winners are welcome to bring a partner, relative or friend. All terms and conditions of the contest are available on Holmenkollen’s listing on Airbnbairbnb.com.
