A virtual event, touting itself as “the World’s Largest Ski Show” will take place from the French ski area Portes du Soleil this coming October.

The World’s Largest Ski Show (#WLSS) will run gfrom 1 to 4 October and include showcases from brands and retailers, ski and snowboard inspiration and training, holidays and trip ideas, snow charities, previews and information about on-the-snow festivals and much more. Organisers hope the event will bring together the ski community like never before, in preparation for winter 2020/21, following a year that has shortened most of our ski aspirations and curtailed life as we know it.

From learning to make rösti with Swiss celebrity chef Frank Raynaud from Michelin-starred restaurant Pas de L’Oours in Crans-Montana or tartiflette with Huski or even apple strudel with the Austrian Tourist board, just the food will get you in the mood. Then there are fitness sessions with Olympic ski racer Emma Carrick-Anderson, technique sessions with Warren Simth and avalanche safety talks with HAT…along with live music and DJ sets, previews of the new season’s ski and snowboard gear and talks on where to find the best snow in the world along with expert Q&A.

These are just some of the ideas already in the mix for the event which the ski industry hopes will kick off the ski season and provide those of us in lockdown something to look forward to during this period of uncertainty.
