The upside
- Lively bars
- Ski school geared to British needs
- Linked to Pal and lift pass covers Arcalis (well worth an outing)
- Pretty, treelined slopes in Pal
The downside
- Arinsal slopes are bleak and very confined (though this does mean children can’t stray far)
- Linear, dour village with no focus
- Poor bus link to Arcalis

Summary
Tour operators used to bring British beginners here in large numbers. Low prices and the Brit-oriented ski school were key factors; but prices are no longer that different from those in more attractive Austrian and Italian resorts.
