Summary
There can be few places where nature has combined the steep with the deep better than at Snowbird and next-door Alta. In a ‘normal’ snow year the resorts’ combined area is one of the top powder-pig paradises in the world (at least for skiers – boarders are banned from Alta). So it is a shame that Snowbird’s concrete, purpose-built ‘base village’ is so lacking in ski resort ambience.
