Summary
The Stubaier Gletscher ranks alongside Hintertux as one of the most extensive and rewarding glacier ski areas in the Alps, and this year gets a splendid new access lift. Neustift is the nearest major village, 20km away from the lift base. But a better base for some visitors, another 5km down valley, is livelier Fulpmes at the base of the Stubaital’s best low-altitude area, Schlick 2000.
