News – 2020/21
A new run called Eclipse will open. This has been specially designed to host the men’s races in the 2023 Alpine World Championships which Courchevel and Méribel are jointly hosting. It starts at Chenus (above La Tania) and ends at Courchevel Le Praz, is 3km long and has a drop of 900m vertical. The bottom section is what used to be the black Jockeys run.
Summary
La Tania is a good-value, family-friendly base from which to explore the slopes of its swanky neighbours in the Trois Vallées, Courchevel and Méribel. The resort was built for the 1992 Winter Olympics, and at 1350m is about the lowest purpose-built French resort you’ll find; its wood-clad buildings sit comfortably in a pretty woodland setting – quite a contrast to the bleakness of many French ski stations.
