Summary
Vaujany is a quiet village perched on a sunny hillside opposite its own sector of the Alpe-d’Huez ski area. It is an attractive, relaxing alternative to the modern ski station, with local slopes at Montfrais. The only run back down the valley ends at the mid-station and is of steepish blue gradient, so not ideal for timid intermediates. There are few places to rival Alpe-d’Huez and its ‘grand domaine’ for extent and variety of terrain - in good wintery conditions it’s one of our favourites. In late season though, the effects of the strong southern sun become more of a problem.
